Jack Edward Shapiro is a practicing dentist and author who is the only American Dentist “iscritto all'albo degli Odontoiatri” necessary to legally be allowed to practice dentistry in Italy for decades; With an American D.D.S “Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from U. of M School of Dentistry” and also has a B.S. “Bachelor of Science Degree from the U. of M. What is a dental implant?
Dental implants are synthetic teeth that are attached to the jawbone, in much the same way that actual teeth are anchored. A dental implant consists of two basic parts – a metal anchor and a porcelain crown. The anchor is firmly implanted into the bone of the jaw, and then the crown, a restoration that appears identical to a normal tooth, is attached to the anchor.
